PROCESSED ROTARY BROACH TOOLS SINCE 1947

Rayco has over 70 years of experience in Broach tool, gage design and use. We have helped all of our customers improve their broaching process whether that be greatly improved tool life, or helping them get complete screws off their lathes in very tough materials, where other broach tools fail.

Typically, conventionally heat treated rotary broach tools, fail in materials above 35 HRC. Rayco broach tools can be used in materials approaching 52 HRC. This allows our customers to get complete parts off their machines without any needed secondary operations such as EDM work. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We have a process solution for you!

OUR PROCESSED STEEL

High speed steel hardened by the Rayco Process is superior to steel hardened by any other method. Rayco Processing is neither a surface treatment nor a coating. It develops uniform hardness throughout the steel. Through the Rayco Process an unusually fine, tough structure is obtained at high hardness. This strength and fine structure can only be approached in conventional heat treating by holding the hardness very low, which naturally lowers the wear resistance and red hardness. The Rayco Process brings out the best edge strength, wear resistance and red hardness properties in any high speed steel.

History

Established in 1947, by the late Ray Bockman, Rayco evolved from a manufacturer of cutting tools for the defense industry, during W.W.II, to the present position of manufacturers of Rayco processed cutting tools and gages. Although Rayco has provided high performance cutting tools across multiple industries including, aerospace, automotive, firearm, petro chemical, oil & gas, major appliance, etc., we pride ourself in serving the medical device field.
